          survey  of  representative  Chinese  short
          stories,  novels, and plays from the third
          to  the  nineteenth  centuries.  Focus  is
          placed  on  the study of  T'ang, Sung, and
          Ming   dynasty  short  stories,  Ming  and
          Ch'ing  dynasty  novels, and  Yuan dynasty
          drama. The course is taught in English. No
          knowledge of Chinese required.
