Statistical Inference Information Theory
and Statistics
Grade Method: REG/AUD The course is based
on the interplay between statistical
problems and information theory. The use
of entropies and information criterions,
which originally appeared in communication
theory, for statistical inference will be
illustrated by goodness-of-fit testing,
minimum distance estimation, nonparametric
classification, density estimation,
multiple decision problem, randomness
testing and quantization of probability
distributions.
