training, the Beatles' music will be
discussed in a non-technical way that

instrumentation. The course also positions
the Beatles' music and influence within
the context of cultural, social and

substantial contributions to fine art
music in the West as composers,
performers, thinkers and entrepreneurs
among other roles. Their contributions can
be seen as either bolstering tradition or
as iconoclastic innovation. Through an
examination of critical and historical
writings, musical compositions,
performances and lectures with guest
speakers, students will examine this
complex and rich legacy. Students will
attend performances on and off campus and
have the option to present their research
in multi-media presentations, guided by
New Media Center staff.
