Grade Method: REG/P-F/AUD
GFR/GER:Meets L. GDR:Meets L. The French
language is spoken in different parts of
the world: in France, but also in Quebec,
Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg, the
Maghreb, Sub-Saharan Africa, the Antilles,
French Guyana, the United States, Lebanon,
Vietnam, and islands in the Indian Ocean.
The spread of French can be attributed to
historical factors such as colonization
and migration. This partly explains why
French is perceived sometimes as a symbol
of identity, often as a symbol of
alienation. We will examine the concept of
Francophonie and its validity in the
different areas of the "francophone"
world.
