          Grade Method: REG/P-F/AUD
          GFR/GER:Meets L. GDR:Meets L. This course
          will analyze the difficulties and
challenges that Latino immigrants face in
their process of adjustment to life in the
          United States. The experiences of
adjustment and survival in the receiving
country as well as the forces that
          generate population displacements are
shaped by gender, nationality, class and
age, among others. Taking these variables
into account will allow us to see how the
impact of the adjustment to a new culture
affects different strata of the Latino
community. Of special interest will be the
analysis of differences by gender and by
          generations within national immigrant
groups. Prerequisite: SPAN 302, 308 and
one other 300-level course or permission
          of instructor.
