we relate those texts to their
socio-historical contexts. The narratives
are Gabriel GarcÕa MÄrquez (One Hundred
Years of Solitude), Eduardo Galeano (The
Open Veins of Latin America), Elizabeth
Burgos (I, Rigoberta MenchÇ), and
selections from the writings of
Subcomandante Marcos. Several films
complement the readings. All readings,
lectures, discussions, exams, and papers
are in Spanish.
