FREN 101  Elementary French I (L)                                 4 credits
HYBRID COURSE - This course is designed to provide students with short but repeated learning events to help develop the basic language skills leading to proficiency; listening, comprehension, speaking, reading and writing. Students also learn about the cultures of France and other French-speaking countries. The class will meet face-to-face every Tuesday and Thursday for short presentations, kinetic synthesis exercises in context, video, work and exams. It will also meet online in asynchronous environment on Wednesdays from 10:00 - 11:00 am for a short interactive session of practice and within Blackboard in an asynchronous environment for class presentations and guided learning exercises. FREN 201  Intermediate French I (L)                               4 credits
Further development of listening comprehension and speaking skills and increased emphasis on reading, writing and cultural knowledge. Focus is on everyday life in France and other French- speaking countries. Prerequisite: FREN 102 with grade "C" or higher or equivalent.
