FREN 102  Elementary French II (L)                                4 credits
Hybrid Course - Continuation of FREN 101. Emphasis is on extending skills in spoken French, within the context of real-life situations. A greater amount of reading and writing is included in this course. Students will meet on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday face-to-face for short presentations, kinetic exercises in context, video work and exams. Students will also access an asynchronous environment contained in Blackboard for grammar based presentations and guided learning exercises and activities. On Mondays, students will meet online to perform synchronous task-based communicative acts. Students will also perform Tell Me More pronunciation exercises in the International Media Center (IMC). Prerequisite: FREN 101 with a grade of "C" or higher or equivalent. For more information contact devernei@umbc.edu.

Further development of listening comprehension and speaking skills and increased emphasis on reading, writing and cultural knowledge. Focus is on everyday life in France and other French-speaking countries. Prerequisite: FREN 102 with a grade of "C" or higher or equivalent.
