| This course examines the principles, philosophies and choreographies of such pivotal figures in contemporary dance as Martha Graham, Merce Cunningham, Doris Humphrey, Paul Taylor, Rudolf von Laban, Mary Wigman and others through regular studio classes in dance technique, readings, lectures and films. DANC 110 Beginning Modern Dance Technique I 2 credits
| First in a series of courses which emphasize the technical aspects of and growth of students' skill in dance. This course satisfies either academic credit or one semester of physical education.
