Introduces students to the history of conventional usage in written form. Standard prescriptive rules of grammar are examined to determine their origins and to assess their current significance for acceptable formal expression in prose. Prerequisite: ENGL 100. MLL 190 or 191 is highly recommended. This course will be offered both in-person and online. For online information see Blackboard or contact rochsner@umbc.edu.
