ONLINE COURSE - In this course students will learn about the complex process of aging. We will explore the process of aging not only as a physical process of the body and mind but also as cultural and social processes with relationships to social identities including race, class, gender, sex, sexuality, and ability. In this course we will explore scholars who have begun to explore the relationships among social identities and the process of aging. Through course materials students will develop cultural and critical critiques of “aging”. Students in this class are expected to contribute to dialogue thoughtfully and intellectually, based on the class material. May be repeated for credit when topics vary. For more information contact hagovsky@umbc.edu.
