ART 369 Topics in Photography Portraits in 3 credits
Platinum
| This topics class will concentrate on the portrait as a mean of personal expression. For these portraits we will use the lighting studio and large format film cameras from 2 1/4 inch to 8x10 inch to make contact size negative which will then be printed in the Platinum/Palladium process. Platinum/Palladium was very popular during the late nineteenth and early twentieth century among the Pictorialist movement in photography. Today many practitioners have revived the Platinum/Palladium process because of the beautiful and rich image it produces just by combining precious metals, water and UV light. Prerequisite: ART 362.
