HYBRID COURSE - This is a medical sociology course that explores the field of international health, particularly the serious health problems facing Third World populations. It provides an introductory survey of the basic issues and initiatives in contemporary international public health, as well as socioeconomic and cultural complexity of health problems in developing nations and the consequent difficulties of developing effective long-term solutions. Note: This course will meet in person twice over the session: Monday, January 5 and Thursday January 22. Prerequisite: SOCY 101, or ANTH 211 or consent of instructor.
