SPAN 101  Elementary Spanish I                                    4 credits
HYBRID COURSE - An introduction to Spanish based on real-life situations. Comprehension and basic speaking skills are emphasized. Some reading and writing is required, as well as an introduction to various aspects of Hispanic societies. No previous knowledge of Spanish required. This hybrid course includes the use of synchronous and asynchronous tools such as online chats or voice records. Therefore, this course requires that students have access to a computer with reliable and fast internet connection. SPAN 102  Elementary Spanish II                                   4 credits
HYBRID COURSE - A continuation of SPAN 101. Emphasis is on extending skills in everyday spoken Spanish. Prerequisite: SPAN 101 with grade of "C" or better or equivalent. This hybrid course includes the use of synchronous and asynchronous tools such as online chats or voice records. Therefore, this course requires that students have access to a computer with reliable and fast internet connection. SPAN 201  Intermediate Spanish I                                  4 credits
A continuation of SPAN 101 and 102 with an increased emphasis on reading, writing and cultural knowledge. Section 9151 of this course includes the use of synchronous and asynchronous tools such as online chats or voice records. Therefore, students in this section require access to a computer with reliable and fast internet connection. Prerequisite: SPAN 102 with grade of "C" or better or equivalent.
