Through its strategic alliance with UMBC, Training Centers draws
on University faculty and industry practitioners to provide state-of-the-art
coursework that leads to first-time employment or career advancement.
Training Centers offers non-credit short courses in the areas of information

and Professional Studies (CPS)
CPS offers individuals and organizations customized, high-quality,

Biotechnology
Programs
UMBC has strong academic programs in the life sciences led by a distinguished
faculty of nearly fifty members spanning the Departments of Biological Sciences,
Chemistry and Biochemistry, and Chemical and Biochemical Engineering. This established
academic and research expertise in the biosciences provides a foundation for
a variety of biotechnology programs. Classes are conveniently offered in the
evenings at techcenter@UMBC and on the UMBC main campus.
Online
Masters in Information Systems
The flexibility of UMBC’s online Master of Science in Information
Systems makes it easy to fit getting a degree into a busy schedule. The
program is open to those with or without prior experience or education
in information systems.
Post-baccalaureate
Certificates
UMBC offers a variety of post-baccalaureate certificates—including
programs in engineering, information systems and instructional systems.
Both non-degree and degree-seeking students may enroll in these certificate
programs.
Erickson
School/NIC Executive Education Courses
The Erickson School at UMBC, in cooperation
with the National Investment Center for the Seniors Housing & Care
Industries (NIC), currently offers seven non-credit courses for
executives in the seniors housing and care industry. These four-day
intensive courses are held on the UMBC campus throughout the
year and are limited in class size to stimulate discussion and
interactive learning. Taught by nationally recognized leaders
working in the seniors housing and care industry today, this
prestigious program is setting the standard for executive development
excellence in the industry. The Erickson Scholl also offers a
B.A. and M.A. in Aging Services.
