Welcome
to the second annual Student Recognition Day ceremony of
the College of Natural and Mathematical Sciences. This
is the day in the year when we celebrate the achievements
and contributions of the brightest and best students in the
College. This year for the first time at this event
we are honoring both graduate and undergraduate students. This
is also the time when we recognize the important roles played
in our students’ success by their family and friends,
and the dedicated faculty in the College, who taught and
mentored them. Many of the undergraduates receiving
awards today will be graduating later this month and going
on to study at graduate or professional schools, or to rewarding
jobs in the workplace. While we will miss them when they
leave us, we are confident that they received a top rate
education at UMBC and we look forward to their many successes
in their future careers. We will be proud that they
have become alumni of this special place called UMBC.
