APPLICATION INFORMATION

A National Science Foundation award provides support for the EMBARC Program.

Students must meet ALL of the following requirements
to be eligible for the EMBARC Program at UMBC:

      • Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or its possessions
      • Be a currently enrolled undergraduate student
      • Have an overall GPA of 3.0 or above
      • Earned a minimum of 30 university credits by the end of Spring 2008 (have at least sophomore status)
      • Successfully completed one year of Chemistry, Introductory Biology and Calculus (or Precalculus) with a “B” or better
      • Agree to conduct research full-time research and participate in all program activities
      • Be able to reside in UMBC campus housing during the Summer EMBARC Program

    EMBARC will NOT be accepting applications for 2010.

In addition to completing the online application,
you must submit ALL of the following supporting documents:

      • A minimum of two letters of recommendation
      • An official transcript of all college course work
      • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or legal Permanent Residency

All supporting documents must be received no later than
the March 1, 2008 Deadline.

Applications will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis until the March 1, 2008 deadline. No applications will be accepted for 2009. Top candidates will be interviewed and selected students will be notified of their acceptance.
