I hope you will visit when you get a chance to see what is happening in our Senate. UMBC has one of the strongest shared governances on the UM campuses. It is in our best interest to keep NESS strong and involved in all aspects of the University and the Senate allows us to do just that.

We advise and make recommendations to the UMBC Administration on matters involving NESS members as well as make recommendations, via the Steering Committee, to the Board of Regents.

NESS awards two Undergraduate scholarships each year. This is one of our most important events of the year. It is a very worthwhile endeavor and one that we really enjoy.
