Who is eligible?
The program targets undergraduate majors in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) nearing the conclusion of their sophomore year who may not have previously considered careers in teaching. Students must be enrolled at UMBC at the time of the award and have a minimum 3.0 grade point average. Applicants must also be a U.S. Citizen, national, or permanent resident alien. Graduate students may also apply.
How do I apply?
Applications to the Noyce Summer Scholars Program must be received by ___. Applicants will be notified by ___ as to whether or not they have been selected to participate in the summer experience. After successful completion of their summer education courses, interested students may apply to the Noyce Scholarship Program for a full academic scholarship.
Summer courses are free. There is no obligation to pay for the courses if the student chooses to not pursue teacher certification through the UMBC Noyce program.
