RENTING REGALIA
UMBC will subsidize the rental of academic regalia for faculty, administrative and associate staff. The Bookstore will begin to accept orders for regalia on October 5. To reserve regalia, please use the electronic response form.
If you have previously ordered regalia at UMBC with the online system, your information will automatically appear on screen when you enter your user name. If you have not ordered before, you must enter the following information: your cap size, height with shoes, weight, degree earned and the name of the school where the degree was earned.
Prior to October 26, there is no cost to the faculty and staff to rent regalia. Between October 26 and December 14, a $20 late fee will be charged. No regalia may be ordered after December 14. Even if there is a slight chance that you will attend Commencement, you should order regalia. It is easier for the Bookstore to return unused gowns and hoods than it is to place a late order and not receive delivery on time.
Regalia will be ready for pick-up at the Bookstore beginning on Monday, December 14, and will continue through Friday, December 18. Faculty and staff must pick up regalia at the Bookstore by Friday, December 18, because regalia will not be available at the RAC. For more information, call Gail Dupree at the Bookstore at 410-455-3904.
Please return your regalia to the Bookstore immediately following the Undergraduate ceremony – do not leave regalia at the RAC after the ceremony.
