Kathleen Russin, English, retired from work for the federal government. She and her husband, Paul, reside in Bradenton, Fl.

Jay Goldscher, psychology, sold his consulting company and has become the senior vice president and consulting practice leader of the Mid-Atlantic region for the Manchester Company in Washington, D.C. He resides in Columbia, Md.

James Atsaides, psychology, accepted a new position with Manchester as a senior vice president and consulting practice leader for the Mid-Atlantic region in Washington, D.C. He resides in Columbia, Md.

Jeanne Martena (Twiner) Peterson, English, is a realtor with Windermere Real Estate. She and her two sons Julian and Alexander live in Spokane, Wash.

William Wade, economics, accepted a new position as vice president of claims with American Medical Security in Green Bay, Wis. He and his wife Bridget live in Roscoe, Ill., but will move to Wisconsin in the fall.

Wayne Gold, American studies and English '80, is the regional director of the National Labor Relations Board's Regional Office in Baltimore. He received a J.D. with honors in 1977 from Creighton University School of Law, in Omaha, Neb. He resides in Columbia, Md., with his wife Ann Gold, elementary education certificate and M.A. instructional systems development '80, and children, Brian and Melissa.

Phillip Jones, Jr., American studies, is the managing director for the National Cooperative Bank. He resides in Annapolis, Md.

Dorothy "Dottie" King, English, is a program planner for Northrop Grumman. She resides in Columbia, Md.

Mitch Bull, English, is the vice president of design and construction services for United Systems Integrators Corporation in San Mateo, Calif. He, his wife Alice and daughter Julie reside in Pacifica, Calif.

Gary Hutchens, psychology, is a therapist for the Montgomery County Government. He resides in Rockville, Md.

Cheryl (Hymiller) Johnson, psychology and social work, received her master's degree in social work from University of Maryland, Baltimore in 1980. She started her own company, the NERDS Group, and resides in Silver Spring, Md., with her husband Larry.

Louis Connor, Jr., political science, is president and CEO of John S. Connor, Inc. in Baltimore. He and his wife Beth reside in Ellicott City, Md.

1980
Michael Apicella, biological sciences, received his doctor of dental surgery from University of Maryland, Baltimore in 1984. He is currently an endodontist of the U.S. Army. He resides in Fayetteville, N.C.

Debra Freeman, emergency health services, is a supervisor for Prince George's County Government. She resides in Laurel, Md.

1981
Michel Desloover, political science, is a foreign service officer for the U.S. Department of State. He resides in Williamsburg, Va., with his wife Jongkodchakorn Kingphadung.

Elizabeth Gibson,interdisciplinary studies, is an asset manager for GSA Public Buildings Service. She is also a trustee of the District of Columbia Preservation League and a member of the George Washington Chapter of Lambda Alpha international, an honorary society for land economics. She lives and roller blades in Washington, D.C.

William Dean Volmer, interdisciplinary studies, works for Nottingham's in Columbia, Md. He resides in Baltimore.

Harry Slade, III, economics, is an investment representative for Edward Jones. He resides in Windsor Mill, Md.

Claire Katz, philosophy, received her Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Memphis and now is currently an assistant professor of philosophy and Jewish studies at Penn State University. She resides in State College, Pa.

Michael Block, emergency health services, is a senior partner attorney for Block & Sobel, L.L.C. He and his wife, Abbe have three children Zachary, Rachael and Joshua, ages 7, 5 and 2 respectively. The family resides in Cherry Hill, N.J.

Michael Bryant, psychology, is a statistician analyst for Telecom Giant. He resides in Denver, Colo.

Robert "Bob" Hyland, information systems, is a senior programmer for Talk.com. He resides in Whitehall, Pa.

Stephen Key, psychology, is a computer specialist for the U.S. Air Force. He resides in Bowie, Md.

Tamara "Tammy" (McCarthy) Marge, economics, is the director of strategic accounts for Experian. She and her husband, Salvatore "Sam" Marge, sociology, have two children Griffin and Peyten, ages 6 and 4 respectively. The family resides in Mullica Hill, N.J. (see Salvatore "Sam" Marge '90).

Deborah (Frank) Bleakney, information systems, is a programmer/analyst for Verizon in Silver Spring, Md. She, her husband Scott and their three children reside in Columbia, Md.

Carolyn Bublitz, computer science, is a software engineering manager for Northrop Grumman. She resides in Jessup, Md., with her husband, Craig.

Jennifer (Whiteside) Campbell, psychology, resides in Woodbine, Md., with her husband William Campbell economics.

Sheila (Reed) Magin, history and teaching certificate, is parish office administrator for the Archdiocese of Atlanta. She, her husband Richard and their 6-year-old Connelly reside in Cumming, Ga.

1989
Lawrence Allen, is the director of human resources for IJet Travel Intelligence. He and his wife Anne (Phillips) Allen, American studies '91, reside in Annapolis, Md.

Richard Rivero, economics, is a realtor for Long and Foster. He and his wife, Deborah (Johnson) Rivero, mathematics, reside in Hanover, Md. (see Deborah (Johnson) Rivero '90).

Kimberly Wright, emergency health services, works for the Fairfax County Police and resides in Lake Ridge, Va.

Frank Flack, mechanical engineering and physics '91, received a postdoctoral fellowship from the Japanese Society for the promotion of science. He will be conducting research at Tohoku University in Sendai, Japan for two years.

Edgar Garcia, theatre, is an associate director for Kaiser Permanente Educational Theatre Programs. He resides in Los Angeles, Calif.

Salvatore "Sam" Marge, sociology, resides in Mullica Hill, N.J., with his wife, Tamara (McCarthy) Marge, economics, and their two children Griffin and Peyton. (see Tamara "Tammy" (McCarthy) Marge '87).

Bobby Mills, mathematics, is a devoted deacon at the Mount Sinai Baptist Church. He is also an IT project manager for the Department of Defense. Bobby completed his master's degree in telecommunications management at the University of Maryland, University College, in 1995. He resides in Washington, D.C.

Jerry Nealon, emergency health services, is a monitor technician for Cardiac Telecom. He resides in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Alkesh Patel, biochemistry and molecular biology, received his doctor of medicine from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 1994. He is an assistant professor for the state of Maryland. His wife Sharmilla and their 1-year-old daughter reside in Columbia, Md.

Deborah (Johnson) Rivero, mathematics, is a realtor for Long and Foster. She and her husband, Richard Rivero, economics, reside in Hanover, Md. (see Richard Rivero '89).

Erik Kjeldgaard, history and sociology '94, began research in cultural anthropology in Trinidad and Tobago in March 2001 funded by a Fulbright Scholarship that he received. He resides in Oak Park, Ill.

John Maruschak, modern language and linguistics, was a volunteer trainer for the Peace Corps for two years. He served in Outer Mongolia, where he purchased a camel. He now resides in Laurel, Md.

Timothy Tosten, political science, was promoted to assistant director for worksite enrichment programs for the National Institutes of Health. He resides in Columbia, Md.

Krista (Mazariegos) Sindelar, psychology, is a fashion coordinator for Weekenders. She resides in Silver Spring, Md.

Damanjit Uberoi, computer science, is a senior network security engineer for the Inktomi Corporation. He resides in Danville, Calif.

Anne Wellington-Goldsmith, emergency health services, is a physical therapist for Tender Loving Care Staff Builders. She and her husband, John, reside in Foxridge, Md.

Maria Chua, psychology, is a senior policy specialist for the state of Maryland. She resides in Baltimore, Md.

Nicholas Witherspoon, information systems management, has been promoted to chief technology officer at KAWG&F, Pa. He resides in Pasadena, Md., with his wife Terri and two daughters Elizabeth and Emilie.

1994
Jahmal Hairston, biological sciences, graduated from the University of Virginia Medical School in May 2000. He is doing his residency in Otolaryngology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He resides in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Stephanie (Kindle) Marshall, psychology, is working on her master's degree in special education at George Mason University. Stephanie is also a teacher for Fairfax County Public Schools. She married Rob Marshall in October and they reside in Springfield, Va.

Jacqueline (Church) Simonds, English, owns Beagle Bay Books and is a publisher and writer for the company. She and her husband Robin reside in Reno, Nev.

Anton Stocker, theatre, is a systems administrator for George Mason University, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. He resides in Alexandria, Va.

Cordell Easton, information systems, is a helpdesk assistant manager for Applied Information Sciences, Inc. He resides in Sunderland, Md.

Yossef "Joe" Elabd, chemical engineering, received his Ph.D. in chemical engineering at Johns Hopkins in October 2000. Joe is a postdoctoral candidate for U.S. Army Research Lab in Aberdeen, Md. His wife Sonia (Abraham) Elabd, biological science, is pursuing her master's degree in writing at Johns Hopkins. She works as a medical editor for JHPIEGO, a non-profit health organization. They reside in Baltimore.

William Honablew, Jr., political science, is a financial specialist for First Union National Bank. He completed his M.B.A. and J.D. from the University of Baltimore in May 2000. He resides in Baltimore, Md., with his wife Belinda and their children.

Ruwam Jayaweera, mechanical engineering, is a project engineer for Blitz Associates and resides in Silver Spring, Md.

Elliot Otchet, information systems, is employed at Expanets and resides in Ellicott City, Md., with his wife Sarah.

Brian Prediger, mechanical engineering, works for the U.S. Army. He resides in Glen Burnie, Md.

Jeffrey Reinhardt, economics, is a senior accountant for Wm. C. Saddler & Co, P.A. His wife, Alyssa (Stokes) Reinhardt, English, is an editor with Watermark Press in Owings Mills, Md. They reside in Baltimore.

Christopher Rudolf, social work, works at Charlestown Retirement Community. He has completed his master's in social work at University of Maryland, Baltimore and has received the LGSW license. He and his wife Sandy reside in Glen Burnie, Md.

Scott Sherry, emergency health services, is a physician assistant student and resides in Waukegan, Ill.

Weldon Hegwood, ancient studies, is an analyst for the Inspector General's Office, LIUNA. He resides in Crofton, Md.

Laura Mackner, M.A. and Ph.D. psychology '99, researches connections between low-income children and their cognitive development. She been published in Child Abuse and Neglect and received the Edwin B. Newman Graduate Research Award. She is working at the Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati with Lori Stark. She resides in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Daniel Scott, economics, is a financial advisor for Morgan Stanley Dean Witter. He resides in Baltimore with his wife Courtney.

Anna Soderberg, theatre, received her professional acting certificate from the Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre. She is a full-time performing artist for the Tears of Joy Theatre in Portland, Ore., where she resides.

Kevin Corwin, political science, is an attorney for Astrachan Gunst Goldman & Thomas, P.C. He is pursuing a master of law degree in information technology and telecommunications law through the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. He resides in Columbia, Md.

Bernard Frank, political science, does software design and development for NASA Federal Credit Union. He resides in Pasadena, Md.

Carlos Guillen, biological sciences, works for Guilford Pharmaceuticals. She resides in Columbia, Md., with her husband, David.

Carole (Fotiou) Jones, health science and policy, is a perfusionist at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center. He and his wife Jen reside in Annapolis, Md.

Lucinda (Galles) Martin, engineering, is employed at Northrop Grumman as an engineer. She resides in Millersville, Md.

Vladimir Milosevic, interdisciplinary studies, is a regional corporate finance director for Erste Bank. He resides in Zagreb, Croatia.

Heath Balcer, biochemistry, molecular biology and M.A. molecular applied biology '00, is a graduate student at Brandeis University. He resides in Newton, Maine.

Aeisha Duncan, computer science and mathematics, is a student intern for Cisco Systems. She resides in Durham, N.C.

Timothy Ryan, emergency health services, is a Lieutenant in the Army Reserves. He is a program analyst for business community planning in the Emergency Management Division of Research Planning, Inc. in Alexandria, Va. He resides in Jessup, Md.

Wahaad Farouque was born Aug. 14, 2000 to Judith Figueroa , psychology '95, and her husband Tyron Johnson. Judith is a New York City outreach coordinator for Healthy Schools Network. The happy family resides in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Claudia Louise was born March 22, 2001 to Alice (Hicks) Haupt , economics '88, and her husband Eric Haupt. The happy family resides in Ellicott City, Md.

Kayla was born March 18, 2000 to Don deJuan Massey , economics and Africana studies '93, and his wife Karyn. Don is a pastor and resides in Bowie, Md., with his wife and two children, Kayla and her 5-year-old brother Joshua.

Abigail was born April 1, 2000 to Kerry (Pozucek) Reitz , social work '92, and her husband Kevin. Kerry is a social worker for Sidney Health Center. The family resides in Sidney, Mon.

Justin Robert was born January 18, 2001 to Robert Smith, mechanical engineering '90, and his wife Cheri. Justin has an older sister Natalie and they all reside in Catonsville, Md.

Sophia "Anna" (Gibbs) Martin, economics '96, married Darin Martin, a professional polo player, on April 4, 2000. She is president of Vividus Foundation, a cancer research foundation. Martin is also pursuing her M.B.A. at Florida Atlantic University. They reside in Wellington, Fla.

Heather Gaffney, psychology '90, and Christopher Rondholz were married Oct. 20, 2000.
