This is
such a special time for you. Several Welcome Week activities have been
planned especially for parents. Others may also interest you. Once the car
(or SUV, van or dump truck) is unloaded, or you've dropped your son or daughter
off for off-campus student check-in at The Commons, visit by one of our
informal receptions planned just for you. Also, think about attending some of
the events arranged to make all feel a part of UMBC, such as Convocation. Why
should the younger folks have all the fun! |

We hope
that you, as a parent, guardian or other person involved with our students,
know that you are a meaningful part of the UMBC community. Please take
advantage of one of the informal parent receptions to ask those remaining
questions, put your feet up for a few moments, grab a snack, or
laugh/cry/commiserate with those who completely understand. |
