INSTRUCTIONS FOR 2012 SURF PRESENTERS Poster numbers with presenter names will be attached to each poster display board. Cell phones must be turned off during the entire event. This is important. Presenters should wear their name badges during the entire event. Poster presenters should plan to put up their posters between 8:30 a.m. and 8:50 a.m. A minimum of business casual attire is appropriate. Presenters should not wear jeans, halter tops, tee shirts, baseball caps, or other inappropriate items of clothing. There will be some quick breads and beverages available to eat in the morning. Presenters should be sure to eat to avoid the risk fainting!! Poster presenters should plan to stand by their posters during their assigned 45-minute poster session. Poster presenters should consider planning a summary or 'take home' message about their research for visitors to their posters. Presenters should thank their mentors for making their research experience possible. Presenters should take down the posters AFTER the closing ceremony and no later than 1:00 p.m. If a presenter's name is spelled wrong on the certificate that is presented during the closing ceremony, they should let Mrs. Sutphin know as soon as possible and a new and corrected one will be made for them. Oral Presenters will practice their presentations the day before the event and they are asked to put their visual presentation files on a thumb drive or other portable storage device and meet in the CNMS Dean's Office at 1:45 p.m. in the University Center (UC 116) on Tuesday, August 7, 2012. Presenters - don't forget to smile and enjoy the experience.
