Application Information

UMBC is accepting applications for the second phase of the 2008-2009 TQC Program at UMBC, which begins June 23, 2008.  Interested teachers should contact Kathy Lee Sutphin at (410) 455-2271 or sutphin@umbc.edu for more information. The brochure-application is available to download in pdf format.

Participants receive attendance-based stipends ($150 per full-day and $75 per half-day) and up to three graduate credits in Chemistry. The program also offers free textbooks and lab manuals.

Grant support will cover all participant tuition costs for 2008-2009 TQC Program Participants.

New opportunities for teachers will be offered again in the third year of the TQC Program in Fall 2009.

Campus housing during the summer workshop may be available at no cost for a limited number of participants living more than 40 miles from UMBC.

Teachers who currently do not meet the criteria for "highly qualified" and those teaching in high need districts or schools are particularly encouraged to apply. Pre-Service teachers also are welcome to apply.
