Application Information

UMBC is pursuing funding through MHEC to continue the TQC Program for a fifth year.

Please check back for information about the application process of the 2012-2013 Teacher Quality in Chemistry (TQC) Program, if funding support is secured.

For the TQC IV Program, applicants were required to submit original official college transcripts, information about their current teaching assignments, work histories and a personal statement (maximum of 300 words) highlighting how the course would enhance their science instruction.  Each applicant was required to include a supporting paragraph from his/her school administrator and a signature of support from a science supervisor. An e-mail of support sent directly to sutphin@umbc.edu from a central office supervisor was accepted in lieu of a signature on the application. 

Brochures about the program were sent to every high school's science supervisor in the State of Maryland and to members of the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA). To download the trifold brochure for TQC IV as a two-page PDF file, click here.
