The main duties of the Front Desk staff are to strictly and consistently enforce RAC admittance policies, and to serve as an information resource for RAC users.
The RAC operates on set, but easy to follow policies, for admittance and general use. These policies are in place for the safety and benefit of current RAC employees and users, and must be respected in order to maintain the relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere that we at the RAC pride ourselves on. To enforce the RAC policies, we are looking for assertive, freindly employees.
Front Desk employees should also know current schedules, and have the ability to be informative to the RAC users. Front Desk employees should build a good rappor with the Building Operations Manager, and the Manager on Duty, to effectively resolve any issues that may arise.



The Equipment Issue Desk Staff will have te responsibility of issuing basketballs, tennis balls, badminton raquets and birdies, towels, and other equipment to RAC users. Since the equipment desk is located on the ground floor of the RAC, it will also be the responsibility of the Equipment Issue Desk staff to enforce RAC Gymnasium procedures, as well as monitoring the equipment usage on the gym floor.




Similar to the Front Desk, the duties of the weightroom staff are centered arounnd the enforcement of policies and preserving the safety of the RAC users.
Duties include re-racking weights and dumbells, cleaning weight bench pads and otherwise maintain the clenliness and safety of the RAC weightroom.
In addition, it will be the responsibility of the Weight Room supervisor to roam the weight room and ensure the proper use of the weight equipment by the RAC users.



UMBC Lifeguards must be mature, responsible individuals, who are comfortable around public swim areas. UMBC requires that lifeguards be certified to be elligible for the position.
Lifeguards are responsible for testing the water Ph and chlorine levels on a regular basis and to maintain the cleanliness of the pool deck. Lifeguards will, above all, be responsible for knowing fully and enforcing the rules and policies of the indoor and outdoor pools.



UMBC Event Staff is responsible for assisting facility staff with UMBC Athletic and Recreation events. This includes set-up, breakdown and cleanup for events, as well as facilitation duties during events.
