Missed the first class but still want to join? No problem! Registration is on-going and prorated per class.

Join us for one of our non-credit, small group classes. Small group classes provide more consistency, progression and individulaized attention, giving you even more support and motivation to meet your fitness goals. Class size is very limited, preregistration required. Class run for six weeks. To register contact Katie Birger cbirge1@umbc.edu

Yoga

Join Joe Loehe to unwind, refresh, and restore your personal energy with this progressive beginner yoga class. Begin to connect body and mind through meditation, breathing exercises, and yoga postures. No prior yoga experience needed. Joe is a registered yoga instructor with Yoga Alliance. Class meets in the RAC fitness studio.

Begins September 8th, Tuesdays, 11:30-1 pm, $30

 

Fitness Basics

Fitness walking is one of the easiest ways to exercise. Katie Birger will take the class outside the studio, combining moderate intensity walking for heart health, with resistance intervals to boost your strength and endurance. We will walk the RAC areana or outside depending on weather. Katie is certified through AFAA and ACE, and is the coordinator for UMBC Fitness and Wellness. Class meets in the RAC front lobby.

Stength Training Basics

Have you always wanted to begin a strength training program, but never knew how to get started? Sarah Choi will cover the basics of the weight room, helping you develop proper form, technique, and a well rounded strength training plan. We will use free weights and machines to increase muscular strength and endurance. Sarah is certified through AFAA and ISSA as a fitness instructor and personal trainer. Class meets in the RAC weight room.

Begins September 8th, Tuesdays 5:30-6:30 pm, $36

 

Back to School Bootcamp

Plyometrics, jump rope, running drills, ab work, and pushups will take you outside the fitness studio and around campus, rain or shine. Join Sabrina as she takes you through a hard core, no nonsence workout. Sabrina is an AFAA and ACE certified fitness instructor and personal trainier. Class meets in the RAC front lobby.

Begins September 9th, Wednesdays 6-7 pm, $30

 

****new**** Belly Dance ****new****

In this class Meaghan Schoeber will teach you the skills needed to perform a choreographed troupe belly dance routine! The moves taught in class will be based around the choreography, and will get more difficult each week. Belly dance is an all over workout that emphasizes endurance in the arms and legs, strength in the core, and balance. You will also learn stage presence techniques. Meaghan is an experienced belly dance instructor and competitor, as well as an AFAA certified group fitness instructor. Class meets in the Fitness Studio begining September 25th and will run for 6 weeks.

Begins September 25th, Fridays 12-1pm, $30

Classes run for six weeks and begin the week of September 8th. Make sure to check back for more class offerings throughout the semester!
