techcenter@UMBC supports technology companies through its incubator
and accelerator programs, which provides business development mentoring
and assistance as well as introductions to UMBC researchers and
students for early-stage, start-up companies. The South Rolling
Road complex houses more than 25 companies, over 200 offices and

bwtech@UMBC is a 41-acre research and technology community that
will include five new state-of-the-art buildings consisting of office
and laboratory space. The 330,000-square-foot research park focuses
on attracting firms in high-tech fields, including engineering,
information technology and life sciences. The first building, 5521,
is occupied by RWD Applied Technology Laboratory. The second building,
5523, houses more than 10 companies. The third building, 5522, will
house the U.S. Geological Survey Water Science Center. For more
