Entrance into nursing school is a competitive process. While requirements vary from school to school, qualified applicants should have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, as well as a 3.0 average in the required science coursework. As always, it is a good idea to review each school's profile to determine what the minimum requirements are for entry.
Each school will vary with what the specifically require to apply to their program, but the following is a list of common components of the application process:

Students interested in Nursing are also encouraged to join the Pre-Nursing Society (PNS), which offers programs and workshops throughout the the year. To join the PNS, students can log into myUMBC and join the Pre-Nursing Society community.
UMBC students apply to nursing schools all over the region, but many choose schools in the Baltimore area.
