All require careful planning and consultation with Ancient Studies Department faculty members. Many opportunities are listed in our Web Resources under Fieldwork/Volunteering (for which there is also a chart) and Internship Opportunities.

Archaeological Fieldwork

Foreign
Ancient Studies majors have received scholarships to excavate in England, Greece, Italy, Israel, England, France, Germany, North Africa, and Cyprus. Please note that students wishing to receive credit for fieldwork or an internship outside of the United States must contact the Study Abroad Office.

Library Studies

Teaching

  • Teaching Grade School, Middle School and High School
  • Teaching in Universities
  • Home-school Latin teacher.

All can receive credit under the course ANCS 397 or ARCH 397. Permission is required.
