MINOR REQUIREMENTS



To complete the minor in Ancient Studies, students must take eighteen credits of the following courses with a grade of a C or better; of these courses, two must be upper level (300 level or above).

Core Courses:
One course in three of the following four categories:

  • ANCS 201 The Ancient Greeks
  • ANCS 202 The Roman World

  • ARCH 100 Introduction to Archaeology
  • ARCH 200 Greek Archaeology
  • ARCH 201 Roman Archaeology

  • HIST 453 Ancient Greece
  • HIST 455 The Roman Republic
  • HIST 456 The Roman Empire

  • LATN 201 Intermediate Latin I
  • GREK 201 Intermediate Greek I



An additional nine credits in any combination of the following:

  • Ancient Studies
  • Archaeology
  • Ancient history
  • Greek or Latin

At least six credits must be at the advanced level (at least 300-level).

NOTE: A course in another discipline may be substituted for one of these three with Ancient Studies Department approval.
