February 10, 2003 - Award letter sent by the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation to UMBC
announcing the support of five Beckman Scholars over a three year period as follows:

The Beckman Scholars Program at UMBC ended in Summer 2006.


A proposal to continue the Beckman Scholars Program at UMBC
beginning in 2008 was submitted by Dr. Phyllis Robinson in Fall 2007.

May 2005 - Pairing of each 2005 Beckman Scholars with a Beckman Research Mentor
June 6, 2005 to August 12, 2005 - 2005 Beckman Scholars' Beginning Summer Research Experience
July 2005 - Mandatory two-day, three-evening Annual Beckman Scholars Symposium in Irvine, California
where the 2004 Beckman Scholar will present his research.
August 10, 2005 - Eighth Undergraduate Summer Research Fest at UMBC - Mandatory

September 2005 to May 2006 - 2005 Beckman Scholars' Academic Year Research Experience
October 2005 - UMBC 8th Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium in the Chemical and Biological Sciences
November 2005 - A Look Ahead Life Sciences Symposium at UMBC
Spring 2005 - BIOL/CHEM 397 Ethics and Integrity in Scientific Research one credit course
April 26, 2006 - The Provost's URCAD - Undergraduate Research and Creative Achievement Day at UMBC

June 5, 2006 to August 11, 2006 - 2005 Beckman Scholars' Concluding Summer Research Experience
July 27, 28 and 29, 2006 - 2005 Beckman Scholars present their research at the mandatory two-day, three-evening Annual Beckman Scholars Symposium in Irvine, California
