New curriculum for Fall 2010

In the Fall term of 2010, The Department of Biological Sciences introduced a new curriculum for undergraduate majors in Biological Sciences for the BIOL B.A., BIOL B.S. and BIOL minor. This list of required courses introduces much more flexibility than in the past. This flexibility will permit continuing students to complete their degree under the previous curriculum with minimal disruption. Continuing students may also take advantage of the flexibility in the new curriculum without the need to complete new required courses.

To aid new and continuing students, information is linked below about the changes that have been made, their impact on students' plans for graduation and how students might choose a major based on their career goals. You may also download course requirement worksheets available for the new BIOL B.A., BIOL B.S. and BIOL minor programs. See the Worksheets page for the details of each program.

Please note: the procedure by which students who enrolled before Fall 2010 can switch to the new degree requirements has now been determined. Please consult the page describing switching to the new majors.
