My current research is focused on host preference between a parasitoid wasp, Leptopilina clavipes, and three Drosophila species: melanogaster, affinis, simulans.  We are looking at differences between the Drosophila larvae in encapsulation ability of the wasp egg, and which larvae were attacked by the wasp more frequently.  Future directions possibly include some field studies using wasps in this experiment caught from a natural population.  Also, we may try exposing another Drosophila species, along with the other three species to observe differences in host preference.
