Blackboard is a web-based, password-protected course management
system used by more than 11,500 students and 300 faculty in 825 UMBC
courses each semester. At its best, Blackboard allows students and
faculty to share documents such as syllabi, presentations, handouts
and notes; communicate with each other through chats, discussion
boards and email; and complete online assessments such as quizzes,
surveys and interactive tutorials.
