Description
NLLC, a nonprofit organization that promotes leadership development for youth, is looking a Communications Assistant will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks and projects and directly assist the President of the organization.

Primary Responsibilities
„X Respond to requests from the public for information (possible school visits and outreach)
„X Develop and maintain directory of media contacts
„X Write and distribute press releases as needed (email/fax/etc.)
„X Maintain database of members, event attendees, volunteers, and organizations
„X Assist in keeping members informed of and involved with NLLC¡¦s work, and soliciting their constructive input and ideas
„X Assist with developing a strategy to increase the number of NLLC members
„X Take minutes at various Board committee meetings
„X Assist with research for use in NLLC publications and public information
„X Assist with media calls and inquiries
„X Manage, maintain, and distribute messages on listservs and other web sites
„X Design programs, posters, and flyers for various events
„X Conducting interviews for articles in HORIZON newsletter as needed
„X Coordinate mass mailings of program and membership information
„X Respond to online information requests
„X Mail information about various programs as needed
„X Accurately file information as needed
„X Follow and provide suggestions for improvement of communications protocol
„X Develop media kit for the organization
„X Additional responsibilities assigned as needed

Additional Qualifications
„X Business Administration, Mass Communications (Journalism, Public Relations), or Marketing Major/Minor
„X Excellent writing and verbal skills
„X Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail
„X Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, Publisher, Internet Browsers)
„X Self-motivated
„X Ability to handle multiple tasks
„X Creative and open minded
„X HTML/Webdesign and Adobe Photoshop experience a plus
