Hi-Tech Career Fair

The free CCG (Career Communications Group) Hi-Tech Career Fair and Conference will be held February 15-18.

The Hi-Tech Fair will be held on Saturday February 16, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Baltimore Convention Center. Representatives from several major corporations and universities will be on hand to meet with students pursuing careers in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) fields as well as Business, Finance, and Marketing.

Interested students should pre-register in the Career Services Center (MP204). The pre-registration deadline is Friday, February 1, 2008. Contact Diane Crump-Fogle in the Career Center for additional information. All students are welcome to attend.

Central Maryland College Career Fair

There will be a FREE shuttle between UMBC and Towson University. Parking will be very limited and all students are highly encouraged to take advantage of the shuttle service.

The shuttle is first come first served and will leave UMBC from Lot #17 (Poplar Ave. entrance) at 9:30am, 11:15am, and 1:15pm (return trips from Towson University to UMBC will be at 12:15pm and 3:30pm).

The Association of Independent Maryland Schools is host a job fair to find students interested in teaching in independent schools. Independent schools are private, non-profit, elementary, and secondary schools governed by a Board of Trustees. Independent school teachers experience a personal, family-like work environment, a sense of community, high academic expectations, and highly motivated students.

There are opportunities to shape courses and curriculum and a chance to affect the
development of young people through work in and out of the classroom. There are
small classes and few problems with discipline. Each independent school admits
students who will benefit most from its program.
