The incumbent will be responsible for operating emergency telephones, two-way radios, telecommunications equipment and University Alarm Systems for a police communications center. Specific duties include: receiving and recording messages and instructions involving emergencies, complaints, violations, accidents, and requests for information and assistance; transmitting messages and instructions to Officers on patrol; dispatching officers to emergencies and complaints; maintaining logs and preparing reports; responding to central fire/burglar alarm systems; entering data into computerized dispatch system and retrieving archived information when needed; performing clerical and filing duties; and performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience: Requires a High School Diploma or GED and two years clerical or other related experience. Typing ability required. Must be NCIC certified. Note: Position requires weekend, rotating shift work, on-call and overtime to provide 24 hour coverage.
