American Institute for Economic Research Fellowship Opportunities

Interested students should have their application materials submitted by March 14, 2008.

For over 50 years, the Summer Fellowship Program at the American Institute for Economic Research (AIER) has provided a stimulating, collegial, and enjoyable opportunity for students to engage in a distinctive and intensive economics learning experience.

The Student Fellowship is geared toward graduating college seniors planning to pursue doctoral programs in economics or affiliated programs (e.g. economic history, law and economics, public policy, etc.). The program is also open to students who have been enrolled in doctoral programs for no longer than two years. The program is open to all students interested in pursuing graduate study in economics or related fields, regardless of undergraduate major.

Complete information on the Summer Program, including the newsletter, application information, faculty profiles, a sample calendar and course reading materials are available on our website at www.aier.org/education. Additional information about AIER will be mailed to you upon request. Please feel free to e-mail us at
fellowship@aier.org or call us with any questions you have.

During the four week program, 5-10 students participate in seminars on property rights, money and
banking, economic methodology, business cycle analysis and more. Students receive room and board in "The Castle" as well as a $300 weekly stipend. Upon completion, students are invited to apply for in-absentia fellowships for the succeeding academic year. In-absentia awards have
historically averaged $5,000.
