ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide education and training programs on sexual and reproductive health topics to teens, adults, parents and professionals.

2. Work with department staff to design education and training programs.

3. Coordinate PPM Speakers’ Bureau, including new member orientation, program development and standardization and program planning.

4. Monitor the recruitment, placement and training of education volunteers and interns.

5. Conduct outreach activities directed to our target audiences related to services, education programs and/or trainings.

6. Represent PPM through active participation in community consortiums, business, faith based and social service organizations, education institutions, and local advisory boards.

7. Identify potential funding sources and write grants when appropriate.

8. Perform other duties as assigned.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:

1. Must be a team player with a sense of humor, willing to learn & grow, flexible, creative, energetic, and committed to the mission, goals, philosophy, and purpose of Planned Parenthood of Maryland.

2. Maintain positive, productive working relationships with all PPM management and staff, and work cooperatively on interdepartmental tasks (may be non-education in nature) as directed by the Vice President of Education or the CEO/President.

3. Ability to communicate effectively and in a friendly manner with clients, vendors and other community members, whether by phone, email or in person.

4. Occasional weekend and evening hours.

Education/Experience: Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

1. Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in health education, education or a related field.
2. Three years of experience in community based setting providing education or outreach, sexuality education preferred.
3. One year of experience facilitating training workshops strongly preferred
4. Grant writing experience preferred
5. Computer skills, including Access, Excel, Word, Power Point and Publisher.
6. Experience in non-profit setting preferred.


Approximate Hours Per Week: 35 hours/week some nights and weekends
Salary Level: Mid $30Ks
