Position Description:
The GE Aviation Controls Engineering Center of Excellence has openings in the following technical areas: CONTROL SYSTEMS ENGINEERS; FUEL SYSTEM DESIGN ENGINEERS; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM DESIGN ENGINEERS

Responsibilities:
- Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the analysis, design, test and/or integration required to define and support assigned components, assemblies or systems that meet business standards and program/product requirements.
- Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers.
- Document and communicate results of technical data generated.
- Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives.
- Share information and promote open dialogue.
- Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business.

Basic Qualifications:
3.0 cumulative GPA or better. Demonstrated leadership experience and academic excellence. High self confidence, interpersonal skills, communication skills, and initiative.

Desired Characteristics:
- Knowledge of gas turbines for aircraft propulsion and/or marine propulsion.
- Familiarity with aero thermo cycle simulation in steady state and transient modes in C, C++, preferably with tools such as NPSS; modeling of electro hydraulic servo systems; pneumatic systems; statistical analysis.
- Knowledge with some application experience in feedback control systems and dynamic design, including regulator design, adaptive control and/or Model Predictive Control. Familiarity with control design and simulation tools such as Matlab, Simulink, Beacon, SCADE, RTW. Strong technical problem solving ability, excellent communication and organization skills.
- Excellent analytical skills combined with engineering judgment.
- Proficiency in PC and/or UNIX workstation tools
