The Graduate Student Association (GSA) seeks a Specialist to work part-time, 20 hours per week. The mission of the Graduate Student Association (GSA) and Office of Graduate Student Life (OGSL) is to represent and support the interests and concerns of current and future graduate students, as well as to enhance and enrich students’ academic, professional, social, and personal welfare. The daily operations and events of the GSA are performed by the elected members of the executive board and graduate work study students. The incumbent will work as the Executive Director of the Graduate Student Association (GSA) and assist the GSA and OGSL in functioning efficiently and productively. Specific duties include: maintaining the GSA office; aiding in the training of officers and staff; hiring and supervising OGSL work study assistants; assisting with and attending various GSA events; planning and managing the yearly Graduate Research Conference; assisting in the planning and organizing of staff and leadership orientations and retreats; managing the graduate student organization co-funding process; serving as liaison between GSA and vaious graduate student organization leaders; and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Requires: a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred). Must have experience with and commitment to working with diverse populations. Previous office management experience, as well as experience with goal setting, leadership development, strategic planning, and event planning required. Must have strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills. Experience working in a student setting and with student government organizations, preferably at the graduate level preferred. Salary is $25,000 - $28,000 based on a 20 hour work week and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Position is part-time (20 hours a week) and includes some benefits.
