New Grads Get A Great Job Workshop

New Grads Get A Great Job - Dependable Strengths Workshop
Thursday, January 15 & Friday, January 16

$50 for a 2 day workshop + one follow-up appointment

Are you graduating this semester?
Still looking for a job?
Need answers to the big questions?

How can I convince people to hire me?
What am I good at that I really enjoy?
What should I do with my life?
How can I find jobs I want?

Many soon-to-be and new graduates don't know what they're going to do come commencement. Luckily, help is close at hand! UMBC's Career Services Center will be holding a two day workshop (Thursday, January 15 and Friday, January 16, 2009 from 9am-5pm) focusing on a non-traditional job search process that will open up new opportunities and allow you to find not just a job to pay the bills, but work that you love!

This two day workshop helps you to do just that! Unlike other career assessments and workshops, you'll be able to assess your strengths and identify what you enjoy, things that you do well and events or experiences in which you take pride. It motivates you to succeed. Ultimately by learning more about yourself through this process, you open up new opportunities.

The focus in this workshop is a non-traditional job search process. Through guided group discussions, participants will:

* Identify what you are good at and what you love to do
* Learn to articulate your worth to an employer
* Learn to make contacts whenever you may want them
* Succeed in interviews
* Work with a support team to increase self-confidence
* Develop a tool to help you be remembered and referred

Knowing what you're good at and love to do is key to getting employers to hire you. This workshop will allow you to uncover, believe in, and effectively communicate your true strengths.

Due to the nature of this workshop, there is a registration fee ($50 covers both days) and space is limited. We look forward to helping you change your life!
The total cost of the workshop is $50 and includes all materials. Register online at http://careers.umbc.edu/skills/ds.php
