Teach For America is the national corps of outstanding recent college graduates of all backgrounds and academic majors who commit two years to teach in urban and rural public schools and who become lifelong leaders in the movement to eliminate educational inequity. Teach For America corps members have an immediate impact in the lives of children growing up today, and gain rare insight, personal strength, and credibility that enable them to work more effectively for change throughout their careers, whatever sector they choose to enter. Corps members attend intense summer training institutes, are placed as full-time, paid teachers, and join a support network that helps them succeed during their two years as in the classroom and beyond.
