Analyze and translate functional specifications and change requests into technical specifications including an estimated level of effort for up to large project requests.

Develop, Test, and Implement efficient and maintainable program logic for existing and new applications in accordance with the technical specifications. Generate clear and concise documentation as required within the programs and within the application documentation repository.

Monitor performance of assigned system applications, resolving operational abends, Investigate reported code defects and resolve or recommend a solution.

Coordinate efforts of a small team of IT professionals to achieve a short-term goal, such as creating or re-writing a subsystem or making a major functional change to an existing subsystem. Creates a schedule using a project management tool.

Have working knowledge Configuration Management and SDLC lifecycle and will have hands-on experience in manual or automated SCM life cycle integrity establishment and perform production audits to ensure compliance to defined and established CM policies and processes.

Lead junior staff members on their assignments. Mentor junior staff members on business knowledge, system details, and complex technical issues.

Expand technical and business knowledge through reading, research, on-the-job training and classroom training.

This position is also subject to being "on call" for emergency situations requiring immediate resolution. Travel between all CareFirst locations may be required.
