Data Collector - Univ. of MD, Baltimore (Part-Time)

This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Division of Growth and Nutrition within the Department of Pediatrics under the guidance of Dr. Maureen Black. The data collector will work on the Challenge! In Middle Schools project which aims to prevent obesity and promote healthy eating and physical activity in adolescent middle school girls. Responsibilities include recruiting participants, contacting participants’ parents to review consent documents, scheduling evaluations, data collection, data entry, filing, and other administrative duties.

Type: Part-time (Monday – Thursday, 20 hours/week, 1-6pm. Hours are non-negotiable. No telecommuters)

Bachelor’s degree or senior undergraduate level student in Nutrition, Psychology, Physical Education, Public Health, or a related field. The preferred candidate will have experience working with diverse populations, have the ability to work well with middle school girls, and abiding by strict research protocols. Promising applicants will be asked to do a mock recruitment. Successful applicants must receive clearance on State and FBI background checks as this position involves working in schools. Ability to work afternoons and evenings required. Must have ability to transport supplies and equipment.
