Resume submission is not required to attend the event, but is required to participate in the electronic resume database. Dress for interviewing and bring plenty of resumes. There is no fee.
RESUME DATABASE
Have your resume distributed to all employers attending the career day via an electronic database which will be sent to each employer one week after the event.
Resume Submission period: May 1, 2010 – May 31, 2010

2 day workshop + one follow-up appointment
Friday and Saturday, June 11-12 - Register NOW!
Need answers to the big questions about where you are headed next?
Not sure what kind of job you are interested in or how to find it?
Are you graduating this year and lack the know-how or confidence to network?
This two day workshop helps you to do all of these! Unlike other career assessments and workshops, you'll be able to assess your strengths and identify what you enjoy, things that you do well and events or experiences in which you take pride. It motivates you to succeed. Ultimately by learning more about yourself through this process, you open up new opportunities.
The focus in this workshop is a non-traditional job search process. Through guided group discussions, participants will:
* Identify what you are good at and what you love to do
* Learn to articulate your worth to an employer
* Learn to make contacts whenever you may want them
* Succeed in interviews
* Work with a support team to increase self-confidence
The workshop is designed for all levels from freshmen to graduate students and alumni.
The registration fee for current UMBC Students is $50. Details and the online registration form can be found at

May Grads: What Are You Doing after Graduation?
UMBC has begun asking May and August 2010 graduates to contribute to the Graduating Student Report so the campus can get a better sense of the post graduation plans of the Class of 2010. Check out last year's results here. All students who complete the report will be entered into a prize drawing.
Graduating students should keep their eyes open for the request email coming their way early this week. Graduating Students can also contribute directly to the report by visiting: http://careers.umbc.edu/gradrep .
Keep your eye out for an email containing the link to the Spring and Summer 2010 Employment Survey that was launched May 4, 2010. The Career Services and Shriver Centers are interested in learning about the part-time jobs/internships you held during the spring semester and your plans for the upcoming summer months.
PNC Bank has generously donated two sets of four box seat tickets to Oriole games (each set valued at $200). Complete the brief survey and earn a chance to be one of the two randomly selected winners!
When it comes to writing your resume there are certain things that that should never be done, like using an unprofessional email address, or lying about past experience. For more information on these, and other common mistakes click here.
