Now you can search Oxford's bilingual dictionaries in French, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian and Chinese. It can be searched or browsed, phonetic symbols are explained, and references can be emailed or exported to bibliographical software. Other features include audible pronunciation, grammatical notes, guides to cultural events of each country, and hints for writing in a variety of situations and formats.

You can access it either from the Database Search option on the library home page or via the Research Port. Also about 20 Oxford Online Encyclopedias library previously purchased are cross-searchable in ORO.

As coverage only goes back to 1998, please continue to make use of the many other very high quality databases to which the Library subscribes. Access is available to all three online citation indexes which comprise Web of Science: Science Citation Index, Social Sciences Citation Index and Arts & Humanities Citation Index. Additional searchable resources are available from the Web of Knowledge homepage (choose from WoS drop-down menu). The Library is developing training workshops for UMBC students and faculty.
