Reminder: End of Life for OIT IRIX Systems

OIT will be turning off the last of its IRIX-based systems on August 31st, 2007, as announced previously..

For Users of UMBC7:

You will be able to access your account, files, email, and popular applications such as pine by logging into the either of our general access Linux or Solaris systems. You should configure your SSH client to connect to linux.gl.umbc.edu or solaris.gl.umbc.edu as necessary. You can access your files remotely via SFTP by using either of these addresses, or via FTP at ftp.gl.umbc.edu.

Personal webpages accessed through the http://umbc7.umbc.edu/~user or http://www.research.umbc.edu/~user will be redirected to the preferred address, http://userpages.umbc.edu/~user for the forseeable future.

For Users of Titan:

You will be able to access your research filespace and many popular applications such as Matlab by logging into hercules.rs.umbc.edu.


For Users of IRIX2:

Your account will continue to be accessible from either our Linux or Solaris systems, linux.gl.umbc.edu or solaris.gl.umbc.edu.
