Mandatory Sophomore Advising Meeting

MANDATORY attendance is required at this group advising meeting for any current UMBC sophomore or sophomore transfer student who is interested in attending medical, dental, optometry, podiatry, or veterinary school after graduating from UMBC.

This meeting will address pre-professional advising issues as students prepare their schedules for Spring 2014. Sophomore students interested in attending medical, dental, optometry, podiatry, or veterinary school after they graduate from UMBC, are required to attend.

Students should meet with their Assigned Academic/Major Advisor and register for Spring 2014 classes prior to the pre-professional group advising meeting. If the information shared during the Mandatory Sophomore Advising Meeting suggests that a student alter his/her course selection for Spring 2014, schedule adjustments may be made to Spring 2014 schedules through February 7, 2014.

Pre-professional students have TWO advisors--an Assigned Academic/Major Advisor and a supplemental, pre-professional advisor. ONLY Assigned Academic Advisors can lift registration blocks. Ms. Roelke does NOT lift registration blocks. Please read about the differences between your TWO advisors, http://www.umbc.edu/premed/medical_advising.php.

This session will be conducted two times. The same content will be covered in both sessions.
