Attention Chemical Engineers!

W.R. Grace located in Columbia, MD is looking for a Process Research and Engineering Group Intern Starting January 2007 for spring semester. The intern will identify and quantify opportunities to reduce materials and energy usage through process improvement. Specific duties may include: (a) Collecting and analyzing operating data from plant process control systems to identify current operating conditions and areas for improvement (b) Designing and conducting lab-scale experiments to evaluate potential process improvements, (c) Collecting and testing plant samples to aid in identification of improvement opportunities. This opportunity is open to juniors or seniors in Chemical Engineering. W.R. Grace is looking for someone to work a minimum 15 hours per week. This position is paid starting between $15-$18/hour. Spring Internships - FREE Pie & Cider!

Looking for an internship this spring? Do you want to fatten up that resume a little bit? Do you want to potentially get paid AND possibly earn credit for it?

The UMBC Shriver Center can help you answer all of those questions. The Shriver Center has MANY PAID and UNPAID INTERNSHIPS available for ALL majors this upcoming SPRING and we need students to fill them.

Internships are important to obtain admission to graduate school and to find a position after graduation. You gain experience and are almost certainly eligible to earn upper level credit by interning 8 to 10 hours per week.

Once you meet with a coordinator, The Shriver Center will send your resume to organizations that interest you. In other words, we'll do the mailing and employer outreach on your behalf.

To get started stop by the Shriver Center ANY TIME between 9:00am and 4:00pm on Monday, November 20 or Tuesday November 21 for the Fall 2006 edition of PIE & CIDER. Simply bring an electronic copy of your resume on a USB drive or CD and we'll get you set up on UMBCworks and ready to look for positions THAT DAY! It's that simple! No appointments, no hassle, and best of all, FREE PIE AND CIDER!!! All it takes is 30 minutes of your time.
